NZ Commentators: Jason O’Halloran is our best
Genuine insight, especially in the all important midfield exchanges.
He can pick what’s going on in an instant and it adds to the respect he should have received as a player.
He is developing some humour on screen, which is important for his development as a TV personality. There are too may ex-players without personalities (Ian Jones, Jon Preston, Matt Cooper and Grant Fox). Fox can be forgiven, having never professed to have a sense of humour and is the straight man of all straight men.
We’ve seen personality from Tony Johnson, Richard ‘Pod’ Turner and Scotty ‘Sumo’ Stevenson and we need it. The Australian rugby show is brilliant.
The key thing a lot of these guys don’t seem to understand is that they are in the Sports Entertainment business. The Entertainment aspect has been missing.
